In a shocking turn of event, some civil servants of the Ebonyi state government have been caught red-handed by the Governor allegedly loading health registers into a vehicle, presumably for sale. This incident highlights the depth of systemic corruption ongoing in the public sector.Â
This was as seen in a recent video making the social media space. The video showed the Governor of Ebonyi state, Mr. Francis Nwifuru confronting the some civil servants.
The governor while confronting the workers stated that he has seen the loading vehicles in the premises several times but never cared to stop by. however, his curiousity on the fateful saturday revealed the unlawful activity. In his words: “Today that is saturday, you called somebody, a buyer to come and start loading it”
Expressing his anger, the governor emphasized that his administration has injected more than six (6) Billion Naira to equip the primary healthcare facility and the general hospitals only to meet the storekeepers sabotaging the efforts of the government and punishing the crying and needy citizens who needs good healthcare services.Â
Health registers such as Child Immunization Register, vaccination cards, daily antenatal register etc are neccessary for maintaining up to date and accurate medical records for good healthcare delivery.
